BATTLING HARPS EXTEND UNBEATEN RUN AGAINST LONGFORD TOWN AND EARN CUP REPLAY

first_imgSOCCER: TEN MEN FINN HARPS have earned a FAI Cup replay after a battling performance at the City Calling Stadium against Premier Division outfit Longford Town.Gareth Harkin opened the scoring for Finn Harps in their 1-1 FAI Cup draw with Longford Town.Harps have enjoyed a sensational start to the season and are unbeaten after TWELVE games in the league. They continued their fine run of form tonight against Tony Cousin’s side and have earned themselves a replay on Monday night at Finn Park. Harps were rocked in the 20th minute when Damien McNulty was sent off. However, Gareth Harkin fired Harps into a dream lead on 22 minutes to give Ollie Horgan’s side something to hold on to.However, that was cancelled out by former Arsenal player Stephen Rice just before half-time.Both sides pressed for a winner late on but neither side could make the breakthrough. It’s a superb result for Harps and with a replay to boost the coffers on Monday night it’s a great result for the club both on the pitch and financially off it.We hope all the players, management staff and fans have a safe journey home tonight.#UTHBATTLING HARPS EXTEND UNBEATEN RUN AGAINST LONGFORD TOWN AND EARN CUP REPLAY was last modified: May 30th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:fai cupfinn harpsHome-page SportLongford Townnewssoccerlast_img
